“It’s great to use my academic research experience in real world projects.”

Since I joined live|work, it’s been a real culture change. Previously, I worked as course leader on Interaction Design at the Royal College of Art and before that I taught at the Bartlett, UCL. During my time in academia I developed user- centred research and innovation techniques, which I now use in the real world; helping businesses and organisations get inspirational insights from real people, quickly and effectively.

I love to explore people’s everyday lives, to find the things that make us so individual and so alike at the same time: in my experience; everyone is an ‘extreme user’. These extraordinary-ordinary people can inspire new services and experiences that can be applied to services for much wider audiences.

My other passion is co-design and I work closely with Sean Miller on Service Design Capability, helping organisations to innovate from within, using the talents of their staff at all levels, and move forward, improving and innovating their services and products.
