“Good service design starts and ends with the user.”

I joined live|work in July 2007 having graduated from the Innovative Product Design course at the University of Dundee. I focused on service design and my final year project on ‘travel stress’ enabled me to work closely with users of air transport, airports and airline services.

The final concept was a luggage tracking system branded ‘Case Locate’ which was showcased at the New Designer’s exhibition in London.

I’ve realised the time has come to stop designing ‘things’ which may eventually end up in landfill, and start designing meaningful services for customers. I believe that any good design starts and ends with the user. My role in the User Insight team enables me to uncover what people really need and helps live|work to create truly desirable services.
